Flood as one of the natural disasters which is related to weather is a
common disaster occurring in a lot of places in the world. Environment
deterioration and human life damage are the recorded results of
floods. Between 2006 till 2008 due to heavy monsoons rainfall a number
of floods have generated along Malaysia's in different parts of
the country. The critical zones in terms of flood damage are located
in the east coast of peninsular Malaysia in the states of Kelantan,
Terengganu and Pahang. The flood cost about millions of ringgit of
property and many lives. With annual heavy monsoon rains averaging
more than 3000mm and such a large flood-prone area, flood risk is
indeed high, most notably in riverine areas and coastal flat lands.
With such a large population living in flood-prone areas, flood
exposure is high as well. Because of such high flood risks and
exposure, the Malaysian Government is forced to spend a huge amount of
its annual budget to mitigate against floods.
-
To identify physical damage of building component pattern and
systematic estimated loss calculation technique.
-
To develop an integrated building damage assessment model for
systematic structural damage identification and real time total
loss calculation.
-
To evaluate infrastructure mobile devices enable the onsite and on
demand information provisioning computational support required by
estimators in the aftermath of the disaster.

-
The integrated building damage assessment prototype provides
accurate site disaster monitoring.
-
The integrated system provides the information of work progress to
head office practically instantaneously.
-
The system provides huge information from the site in a simple and
user-friendly format that helps government agencies to digest and
process information in a quick time.
-
Using integrated system can raise the rate of productivity of work
and reduce the improper usage of government fund
